Niagara on the Lake

We took a trip to Niagara on the Lake in Canada last weekend. I never would have known about this beautiful little gem of a town had it not been for my sister-in-law Marge. She had been to the Shaw festival before and lucky for us she thought Bob and I would also like it. So she made all the arraignments.
This village is Canada's Napa. Wineries are plentiful. They range from very large contemporary ones to mom and pop tasting rooms. From riverside mansions to Tuscan villas all situated along the Niagara River that runs into Lake Ontario from the Niagara Falls. Since this town is also known for it Shaw Festival(as in George Bernard the playwright) we also took in two plays, both wonderfully entertaining and brilliantly written. Then on Saturday we took a drive up to Niagara Falls. Not having been there in decades I was overcome with it's majesty. We also took a ride on the Maid of the Mist (ala Jim and Pam from the Office) so here is a taste of Niagara and the Falls.
