Summer has Arrived

It was a true summer weekend here at the Edge. I like to refer to these as our Caribbean days. The water was turquoise and the sky brilliant blue. Is was also HOT and Humid. Sultry as they say in the south. Bob and I went for a jet ski ride on Saturday afternoon and it was so refreshing. The water was clear and beautiful with ribbons of sandbars stretching out from the shore. We stopped in to see friends whose air conditioner was on the fritz so they where sitting in the shade under a tree the way we did in the old days to cool off before everyone had "air". I wonder sometimes about our children not ever having to experience those days. When we where kids we would spend the day in the basement to play and keep cool. On hot Sunday afternoons we would sit under the trees in the back yard to visit and play. Sometimes mother would fill the galvanized wash tub with freezing well water and we would use it as a pool, or run through the sprinkler. Ah those where the days.
Anyway after our ride we came home to sit in the hot tub and watch the storm clouds come in. We had quite a good rain, so that meant no sunset. Today cleared off and again was very warm and beautiful. Our friends asked us to come down at 3pm for a pontoon ride on their new boat. So we headed down but shortly after 3 another really bad storm came in and we had a heck of a downpour. So no boat ride ,and again no sunset.

All in all it was a great way to start the summer swelter and I for one am glad to have it. I am enjoying the early morning walks with Frodo and lazy evenings with him curled up next to me while I read or watch tv. The lazy daze of summer are here, Hurrah.
