Learning the hard way

Ok, listen up everyone. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT WALLPAPERING UNLESS YOU PREPARE THE WALLS PROPERLY WITH SIZING BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRY TO TAKE IT OFF. The stupid part is I knew better 20 years ago when I put it up, but I thought I would not ever need to replace it. When we bought this old house I stripped no end of paper sometimes 5 layers deep so you would think I would prepare better. But NOOOO .......
Ya know redecorating is like playing Dominos, you can't do just one room. What starts out as a simple carpet replacement in a bedroom turns into housewide MAYHEM. I see it as a cure for the wintertime blues...no time to get cabin fever when your STRIPPING PAPER and painting all the time.

It's my sewing room. It will look better than new after the new carpet and paint.

Have you been to our house? It looks just like it did when we took 7 layers off from the previous owners. No prep at all. Too true and it's funny until it dawns on you what a mess it's going to be, sigh.
