The Vest

Remember this vestOne circle of fabric makes a vest that highlights both sides of a special fabric. Choose a fabric that looks good on both sides.. Well I made one today.
Now I know you might be thinking this is not the most appealing fabric. But I got it free and it is actually a good plaid for my coloring in small doses. So following are a few of the construction pictures. It is a big circle to start and the I made a bias trim from the leftover fabric to rim the hem and armholes. Here is the link to the directions if you missed them the first time.

The lesson I learned are that I really do like it as it, but the next time I may make the armholes a bit higher so the collar is not as large and the bodice longer. Think about it for wedding shawls out of chiffon or satin. This one was made from a wool plaid that is the same on both sides. My next one will be in a solid in cream.
Have fun with it.
